"S" Terms

Split the Blinds

  1. Verb

In a game with multiple blinds, to return the blinds to the players who posted them and play a new hand, rather than continuing the one in progress.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This may be done upon the agreement of the players who have posted the blinds and when no other players have called or raised.

EXAMPLE: "I usually like to split the blinds when nobody calls. I'm more skilled at playing against multiple players than I am at heads-up play, plus the pot gets bigger when there are more people in the hand."

APPLIES TO: Online and Land-based Venues

    SYNONYMS: Chop

RELATED TERMS: Big Blind, Blind Game, Small Blind
