Scramble

    A card randomizing technique in which all cards in the deck are placed into a face-down heap on the table and then mixed together.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The dealer typically scrambles the deck when there is a deck change. In addition to the scrambling requirements established by the casino or cardroom, dealers may also scramble the deck at the request of a player. Scrambling is not commonly used as the only randomizing method, and will often proceed a conventional shuffle.

    EXAMPLE: "Please scramble the deck."
