Sight

    A showdown for a side pot.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Uncommon usage. Typically referred to simply as a showdown.

    EXAMPLE: "I lost on the sight."

  2. Noun

    In the poker variation Brag, a hidden mid-game showdown between a player and the next opponent in the rotation who is still active.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A player may request a sight only in certain circumstances. The two players involved show each other their cards, but keep them concealed from the remaining players, and the loser of the sight is required to fold.

    EXAMPLE: "I eliminated one of my opponents on a sight. It is a good thing I did that, too. If my opponent had stayed in the hand there was a higher likelihood that I would have been outdrawn."
