Verb
To win both portions of the pot in a high-low game; as opposed to split. A player may scoop the pot either when that player has the best high hand and the best low hand, or when that player wins the high hand and no players are able to compete for the low hand due to qualifying restrictions, such as not being able to use any cards higher than an eight.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Sometimes improperly used to describe winning the entire pot in a game that would only require a split pot when hands of equal rank appear on the showdown.
EXAMPLE: "I had the best low hand and the best high hand. I scooped the pot and ended up winning the tournament."
APPLIES TO: Online and Land-based Venues
