Pot

Noun
A central fund in which players place their wagers and which will be given to the winner of the hand. Occasionally, the full amount of the pot will not be provided to the winner due to the house rake or due to a player agreement to pot for a shared purchase.

Noun
The total amount of chips or money contributed as potential winnings for a given hand; the sum of the antes, blinds, bets, raises, reraises, and calls in a given hand. Can be used either including or excluding money for the house rake or money set aside to pot a shared purchase.

Noun
The physical space on the poker table where chips or money are placed when wagered.

Noun
One hand or round of game play.

Verb
To set aside a portion of the wagered money to buy something for the group of players, such as snacks or drinks; pot out. Done only upon agreement of all players.
