Adjective
That shares the same suit or number value with a card in a given player's hand and falsely appears to improve the strength of that player's hand.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Because it would actually improve the strength of a hand rather than falsely appearing to do so, a community card with the same number value as a pocket card is not considered a duplicate card it if helps make the hands Four of a kind, Three of a Kind, Two Pair, or One pair. Similarly, a community card with the same suit as a player's pocket cards or card would only be a duplicate card if the player had at least a completed flush before it was dealt.
EXAMPLE: "I had A-J in the pocket and made the Ace-high straight on the flop. I decided to sandbag because I knew my opponents would fold if I made a large raise after that flop. Unfortunately, the turn was a duplicate Jack, so everyone knew they needed at least the Ace-high straight to win on the showdown."
