Dead Game

    A game in which many players are not risking their own money; a game in which a high percentage of the chips are not live chips; as opposed to a live game.

    EXAMPLE: "I try not to play in dead games if I can help it. I find it is harder to get my opponents on tilt when their losses are taken as personally."

    A game in which players are particularly tight and passive; a game in which there is minimal betting, raising, and re-raising; as opposed to a live game.

    EXAMPLE: "Even though it can be tough to make any money on a dead game, it can be easy to take advantage of the tightness by occasionally bluffing to steal the blinds."
