Dead Collection Blind

    A dead blind that is not considered part of the pot and is instread paid directly to the casino or cardroom as compensation for hosting the game; a form of collection drop in which the player in a specified position is required to pay a fee directly to the house; as opposed to a rake, time collection, or other form of collection drop.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The button is typically the player required to post the dead collection blind. In such cases, the fee may also be referred to as a button charge.

    EXAMPLE: "I prefer a rake to a dead collection blind because with a rake the players who win the most have to pay a greater share of the fees involved in the game."
