Discard Pile

  1. Noun

    The collection of all cards that have been removed from each player's hand and that are no longer in play.

    EXAMPLE: "When the dealer shuffled up the discard pile to prepare for the next hand, the cut card accidentally got shuffled in. It was kind of funny."

  2. Noun

    The physical location on the table at which cards that are no longer in play should be placed.

    EXAMPLE: "I can't reach across the table. Could you put these in the discard pile?"
