Noun
An agreement between players to deal two groups of any remaining cards rather than only one, with a showdown for half of the pot held using each of the two groups of cards.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Rules vary on whether or not, and under what conditions, players may agree to deal twice. Dealing twice is intended to minimize the chance factor involved. Example: If there had been a flop, but the turn and river cards were not yet dealt, dealing twice would be an agreement to deal a turn and river and then deal another turn and river. The first group would determine the winner of half the pot and the second group would determine the winner of the other half.
EXAMPLE: "I needed a Jack or a 10 to stay alive, so I suggested to my opponent that we deal twice. Even though I would win less if I got lucky on only one of the deals, I didn't want to take the chance of busting out so early."
