Dead Cards

  1. Noun

Cards that may not be dealt to a specific player; cards that have been fouled, have been folded, or are held by an opponent.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Cards may be declared dead for a number of reasons, such as being marked, touching another players' cards, touching the muck, or falling on the floor. Rules vary about whether only the specific card in question is declared dead in these situations or if the player's entire hand is declared dead. A card from a second deck that accidently slips into the deck being used would be considered a dead card.

EXAMPLE: "I folded and tossed my hand in with the other dead cards."

APPLIES TO: Online and Land-based Venues
