Deal Seconds

  1. Verb

Seconds deal; to use the second card in the deck rather than the top card in the deck when distributing cards to players; a form of cheating in which a particularly strong or weak card is put on the top of the deck and the second card in the deck is dealt to each player until the dealer reaches the player who is supposed to receive the known top card, at which point the dealer begins to deal from the top card.

EXAMPLE: "It is easier to deal seconds when using a mechanic's grip, so even though I don't assume everyone who uses a mechanic's grip is cheating I do tend to watch a little more closely just to be safe."

    APPLIES TO: Land-based Venues
