Big Cat

  1. Noun

    A hand with no pair, no straight, and no flush in which King is the highest card and 8 is the lowest card; any one of the hands K-Q-J-10-8, K-Q-J-9-8, K-Q-10-9-8, K-J-10-9-8 without a flush; in a Cats and Dogs game, the hand ranking immediately below a Flush and immediately above a Little Cat.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: If multiple players have a Big Cat, the winner is the Big Cat that uses the higher cards. Example: K-Q-J-10-8 wins against K-J-10-9-8 because the Queen in the first hand is the highest card that the two hands do not share.

    SAMPLE HAND:

    EXAMPLE: "I thought my straight would hold up but my opponent had a big cat."
