Blaze

  1. Noun

    A hand consisting entirely of face cards.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A blaze may be considered a complete hand under some rule variations. In the non-standard games in which a blaze is considered a complete hand, it ranks above Two Pair and below Three of a Kind.

    SAMPLE HAND:

    EXAMPLE: "We were playing without any special rules. I had a blaze, K-K-J-J-Q. With all those face cards it looked a lot stronger than the two pair Kings and Jacks that really mattered on the showdown."
