Button

  1. Noun

    The position of dealer, which acts last and rotates one seat clockwise each after hand. Applies regardless of whether the player in that position actually deals cards or only acts to represent where the dealer would be sitting, such as occurs when the house employs a non-playing dealer.

    EXAMPLE: "I had the advantage of being on the button, so I didn't have to guess how each player would act before deciding what to do."

    The player sitting in the dealer position.
