Bet the Raise
Adjective
In which the maximum amount that a player may raise or reraise is equal to twice the amount of the previous bet, raise, or reraise.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: May be applied with either structured limit or spread limit games. Because the limits apply only to raises and reraises, bet the raise games require additional agreement on a limit for the opening bet. Example: There is a structured limit bet the raise game. If Player A bets $5, Player B may raise by $10. If Player B makes the $10 raise, Player C may raise by $20.
EXAMPLE: "Even though the pots don't get as big as in no limit and pot limit games, there can be some real monster pots in bet the raise games when there are two or three players that each think they have the best hand."
