Center Pot

  1. Noun

Main pot; the pot that all active players have contributed to and that all active players are eligible to win; as opposed to a side pot. Separate showdowns occur for each side pot and for the center pot, and players not eligible to win a particular pot do not participate in the showdown for it.

EXAMPLE: "I went all-in and an opponent reraised, creating a side pot. I had the best hand on the showdown, but was only eligible to win the center pot."

APPLIES TO: Online and Land-based Venues
