Color Up

  1. Verb

    To exchange chips of low denomination for chips of a higher denomination.

    EXAMPLE: "My local cardroom stopped allowing people to color up at the table. They were getting a lot of complaints about the fact that coloring up slowed the game down, and if you make racks available it shouldn't be a problem to just take your chips to the cage and color up there."
