London Lowball

  1. Noun

    A draw game in which players attempt to make the weakest possible hand rather than the strongest, with Aces being counted a low cards and straights and flushes counting as high hands.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The best possible hand in London Lowball is 6-4-3-2-A without a flush, as opposed to the best possible hands of 7-5-4-3-2 without a flush in Kansas City Lowball and 5-4-3-2-A regardless of suit in Ace-to-Five Lowball.

    EXAMPLE: "I enjoy Ace-to-Five lowball much more than London Lowball. I've never really learned the strategy changes for London Lowball and the fact that straights count against you really throws off my game."
