Live Player

  1. Noun

    A person using live chips rather than tournament chips or house chips.

    EXAMPLE: "I've found that live players tend to be a little tighter than others. Something about not being as personally invested in a hand can really have an impact on people's play."

  2. Noun

    Active player; a person who was dealt in for a specific hand and who retains a stake in the pot.

    EXAMPLE: "There were only three live players. The game was ten-handed, but seven players folded before the flop."

    A person playing poker in a land-based setting rather than online.

    EXAMPLE: "I prefer online play more than live players since I am not very skilled at reading my opponents and hiding my tells."
