Live Blind

  1. Noun

    The mandatory contribution to the pot made before any cards are dealt under the condition that the player making that wager is permitted to make a raise even when no other player has previously raised; as opposed to a dead blind.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Most blind games use live blinds.

    EXAMPLE: "It?s a good thing we were playing with a live blind. I was the big blind and had pocket rockets. It would've been a shame if I couldn't have raised."
