Three of a Kind

  1. Noun

    A hand containing three cards of the same value, such as Qs-Qh-Qd-8s-9d; the hand ranking immediately below a straight and immediately above two pair. When multiple players have three of a kind, the winner is determined using the three of a kind with the highest card value.

    SAMPLE HAND:

    EXAMPLE: "I had 9h-9s in the pocket and made three of a kind nines on the flop. I beat my opponent who had three of a kind sevens."
