Tournament Chips

  1. Noun

Chips with no cash value used to keep score in a tournament; as opposed to live chips.

EXAMPLE: "It was kind of thrilling to have $30,000 in chips in front of me even though they were just tournament chips. Even first place was much less than the $30,000, but it still felt pretty cool to have such a huge stack. I played a pretty solid game and ended up placing in the money."

APPLIES TO: Online and Land-based Venues
