Time

  1. Noun

    In games where there is a limit on the time any player may take in making a decision or action, a request by any player at the table to keep track of how long another player is taking or to force the player to act within the agreed-upon timeframe.

    EXAMPLE: "I don't want to sit here forever while you slow the game down -- time."

  2. Noun

    Notification given by a player to the dealer to indicate that the player will need a moment before deciding what to do.

    EXAMPLE: "This is a difficult decision. Time, please."

  3. Noun

    Time collection; a fee paid to the casino or cardroom for a specific period of time played; as opposed to a rake or other form of house fee.

    EXAMPLE: "Time is $10/hr at the $10/$20 game. I'd much prefer that to a rake."
