Redeal

  1. Verb

    To collect each player's cards and distribute new cards because a mistake was made in the initial distribution, such as dealing the wrong number of cards or dealing out a player who was supposed to be dealt in.

    EXAMPLE: "I gave everyone six cards instead of five, so we redealt the hand."

  2. Noun

    The collection of each player's cards and distribution of new cards after an error has been made.

    EXAMPLE: "I made a mistake when dealing initially, but at least I didn't mess up again on the redeal."

  3. Noun

    A situation that requires the hand to be dealt again; foul; misdeal.

    EXAMPLE: "After we realized I gave out the wrong number of cards, we declared a redeal.
