Pot Limit

  1. Adjective

    In which the maximum amount by which any raise or reraise can increase the pot is restricted to no more than the amount of money or chips currently in the pot, including any amount that would be required to call; applying a spread limit restriction with the maximum wager equaling the current size of the pot.

    EXAMPLE: "I like pot limit games best. The limit is high enough that I can get my money's worth when I have a strong hand, but not so high that my opponents can steal the pot easily."
