Poker Face

  1. Noun

    An unemotional or unexpressive appearance designed to prevent opponents from gaining information about one's cards or one's intended actions; a deadpan expression maintained irrespective of an exciting or disappointing circumstance.

    EXAMPLE: "I have a difficult time maintaining a poker face when I've got a strong hand, but I'm still playing for relatively low stakes and I'm getting a lot of good practice at noticing and preventing my tells."
