Play the Board

  1. Verb

    To make your best possible hand using only the community cards.

    EXAMPLE: "I was dealt pocket Kings, but the board came up 6h-7h-4s-5d-8c. The kings didn't help. I was just playing the board for the 8-high straight. Nobody had the nine needed to beat the board, though, so we ended up with a split pot."
