Pair
Noun
A hand containing two cards of the same value, such as Qs-Qh-4c-Js-7d; the hand ranking immediately below a two pair and immediately above a high card. When multiple players have a pair, the winner is determined using the pair with the highest card value.
SAMPLE HAND:
EXAMPLE: "I had a pair of Queens but lost to two pair."

Noun
Any two cards of the same value, including cards that are used to make a hand that is higher ranking than a single pair.
EXAMPLE: "I had a full house -- three Queens and a pair of Jacks."

Verb
To be dealt a card that is the same value as a card that one currently holds; to complete a pair.
EXAMPLE: "I paired Aces on the river."
