Flop

  1. Noun

    The first three community cards revealed. These cards are dealt simultaneously and shared by all players.

    EXAMPLE: "The flop was 5h-Qs-8c."

  2. Verb

    To make a hand with the first three community cards.

    EXAMPLE: If a player had pocket Queens and the flop was 5h-Qs-8c, that player might say "I flopped trips."

  3. Verb

    To reveal the first three community cards. Referring to the cards revealed rather than any player's total hand.

    EXAMPLE: "The dealer flopped 5h-Qs-8c."

    The round of betting immediately after the first three community cards are revealed.
