Half-Pot Limit

  1. Adjective

    In which the maximum amount by which any bet, raise, reraise can increase the pot is restricted to no more than half the amount of money or chips currently in the pot, including any amount that would be required to call as though it were currently in the pot; applying a spread limit restriction with the maximum wager equaling half of the current size of the pot.

    EXAMPLE: "I've never played a half-pot limit game. I prefer pot limit games."
