Overpair

  1. Noun

    A pocket pair made with cards whose value is greater than the value of the highest community card; any pair that would beat the top pair.

    EXAMPLE: "I had a pair of Queens in the pocket. The flop was 5h-3d-Js. The turn was 9c, and the river came up 7d. I won the showdown with my overpair."
