Overbet the Pot
Verb
To make a bet, raise, or reraise that is larger than the amount in the pot.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Example: If the pot was $12, to place any bet larger than $12 would be to overbet the pot.
EXAMPLE: "I had a great hand and my opponent raised on the flop. I decided to slowplay it and just flat called. My opponent make a large bet on the turn and I overbet the pot. Unfortunately, my opponent folded because it would cost so much to call."
