On Tilt
Adjective
Upset or frustrated to an extent that causes poor decision-making during game play; steaming.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: It is common for a player to go on tilt after a bad beat or a long run of bad cards. In such cases, game play typically becomes looser and more aggressive as the player attempts to win back the losses.
EXAMPLE: "I know that I have a tendency to chase even with bad cards whenever I'm on tilt, so I make an effort to tighten up my game after a bad beat. I don't usually end up actually playing a little more loosely even when I'm trying to play tight in those situations. It is just much harder for me to fold."
APPLIES TO: Online and Land-based Venues
USAGE: Describes a player.
