Add on

  1. Noun

    The option to purchase an additional specified amount of chips at a specific time partway through a tournament. Unlike a re-buy, this option is granted to all remaining players regardless of stack size.

    EXAMPLE: "I prefer tournaments with an add on because I get a chance to play for a while before I decide if I am willing to risk the extra money."

  2. Noun

    The amount of money required and amount of chips received if a player chooses to purchase additional chips.

    EXAMPLE: "The add on was $40 for another 1500 chips."

    In a tournament, to purchase additional chips at the end of the re-buy period; to purchase an add on.

    The point in time at which the re-buy period ends and players may choose to purchase a specific amount of additional chips.

  5. Verb

    Outside of tournament games, to purchase additional chips prior to losing all of the chips with which one began; to purchase an add on.
