Automatic Bet

  1. Noun

    The wager placed when a given player is believed to be at such an advantage that all players expect the wager and a failure to place it would reveal a particularly weak hand.

    EXAMPLE: "We were playing five-card draw. My opponent drew three cards. I drew one card, going for a flush. I missed the flush but made the automatic bet. My opponent folded."
