Kill Blind

  1. Noun

A mandatory wager twice the size of the big blind that is posted by a player who has met the criteria necessary to trigger a kill.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Commonly used criteria to establish a kill include when a player has won two consecutive hands, after any pot that exceeded a certain size, after looking at one's first two cards in a draw game, and after a scoop in high-low split games. In these cases, the player who won the pot would be required to post a kill blind on the following hand and that hand would apply limits of double the ordinary amount.

EXAMPLE: "I won two pots in a row and killed the pot. Of course I had to post the kill blind, but I?d rather do that than have not won the pots to begin with."

APPLIES TO: Online and Land-based Venues

    GAME CATEGORY: Shared Card Games

    SYNONYMS: Kill

RELATED TERMS: Big Blind, Blind, Blind Game, Full Kill, Half Kill, Small Blind
