  1. Verb

    To receive a card or cards that increase the strength of one's hand.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This term does not apply when receiving cards that make a flush, straight, or straight flush from a drawing hand. The term "complete" is used instead in these situations.

    EXAMPLE: "I had a middle pair and figured I needed to improve in order to win."
