In the Hole

  1. Adjective

    That are held by a given player and that no opponent is entitled to see; that is a hole card or are hole cards.

    EXAMPLE: "I had Jh-10h in the hole with 9h as my door card. My opponent raised with a King in the door. Even though I only had a drawing hand, I decided to call."

  2. Adjective

    Who has lost money or chips.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: May be followed or preceded by the amount of the total loss for a particular session or another specified period of time.

    EXAMPLE: "I'm up $50 for the night, but I'm still $100 in the hole for the month."
