Zilch - [High Card]-Zilch

  1. Noun

A lowball hand in which the four lowest cards in the hand are the best possible cards any player could hold.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Examples: In Ace-to-Five lowball, Eight-Zilch would be the hand 8-4-3-2-A. In Deuce-to-Seven Lowball, Eight-Zilch would be the hand 8-5-4-3-2.

    SAMPLE HAND:

EXAMPLE: "I had A-2-3-4-K before the draw, but only made Jack-Zilch on the draw. I folded when an opponent bet. It was frustrating to miss the draw like that and have to lay down a hand that includes A-2-3-4, but I knew there was no way a Jack would hold up on the showdown."

    SYNONYMS: Zip - [High Card]-Zip

RELATED TERMS: ABC, Lowball, Perfect, Rag, Rough, Smooth
