Jackpot - [Multiplier] Jackpot

  1. Noun

A bad beat jackpot or other jackpot of a fixed amount and that is temporarily larger than the ordinarily posted amount.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: While many bad beat jackpots are progressive jackpots that grow over time, others are a fixed amount. Jackpots may be temporarily increased as part of a promotional campaign. Example: If a cardroom with a $2,000 bad beat jackpot offers a special $4,000 bad beat jackpot at a certain new table, that table would be said to have a double jackpot. Likewise, if a cardroom offered a $6,000 jackpot at all their tables on Wednesday mornings and a $2,000 jackpot at other times, the Wednesday morning promotional prize would be a triple jackpot.

EXAMPLE: "There was a triple jackpot, but nobody won it when I was there."

APPLIES TO: Online and Land-based Venues

RELATED TERMS: Bad Beat, Bad Beat Jackpot, Bonus, Jackpot, Jackpot Drop
