No Gypsy

  1. Adjective

    In which the first player to act must complete rather than bring in; in which the mandatory first bet is the size of a full bet rather than one-half of a normal bet.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Uncommon usage. This term originates from the stereotype of Gypsies or Roma as being cheap or beggar-like.

    EXAMPLE: "We were playing $1/$2 stud with no gypsy."
