Underpair

  1. Noun

    A pocket pair made with cards whose value is less than the value of the lowest community card; any pair that would be beaten by the bottom pair.

    EXAMPLE: "I had a pair of sixes, but the flop came up 7c-Jd-Ah. Since I had an underpair, I folded as soon as one of my opponents bet."
