Known as the Godfather of poker. Tied with Phil Hellmuth and Johnny Chan for most World Series of Poker gold bracelets with 10. Won back-to-back WSOP Main Events (1976, 1977). Father of Todd Brunson who is also a WSOP bracelet winner. Wrote and edited Super System: A Course in Power Poker I and II, known to many as the poker Bible. Was a nationally recruited athlete in both track and basketball in high school and college.
