888 Poker recovers record amount from game integrity reviews in 2022

(PRESS RELEASE) -- 888 Poker, one of the world’s leading online poker destinations and part of 888 Holdings plc, announces it returned $287,292 of refunds to its players throughout 2022. 888 has recovered these funds from accounts that violated 888Poker’s fair gaming policy.

888 Poker has continued to make progress in tackling the issue of ‘bots’ and RTA (real time advisor), the use of software programming to create unfair advantages over real-life players. In addition, 888Poker detected players colluding with each other for unfair advantage. Data retrieved from 888’s sophisticated and innovative technology shows that during the whole of 2022, 888 Poker refunded a total of 6,801 players with $287,292, averaging $42 per player. This represents a 32% year-over-year increase in the number of detections.

This progress has been driven by 888 Poker’s increased investment in improving its detection capabilities, reflecting its broader efforts to ensure a safe, fair, and enjoyable poker experience for all players.

Matan Krakow, Head of Poker Offering at 888 Poker, commented:

“At 888 Poker, we take the issue of game integrity very seriously. This year, as a result of our continued investments in technology, cooperation of our players, and hard work of our teams, we have increased the detection rate of bot accounts, RTA and collusion to give back almost $290,000 to players. In the year ahead, we will continue to focus on this area to ensure that customers have a fair, safe, and entertaining experience when they play with 888 Poker.”
