28 July 2023
(PRESS RELEASE) -- Following more than two months of nonstop record-shattering play at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) today announced its annual fall series, WSOP Europe and its initial international stops for the 2023-24 WSOP Circuit (WSOP-C). Returning for its 14th season, the 2023 edition of WSOP Europe is set to unfold at King's Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, from 25 October - 15 November with the highly anticipated Main Event kicking off on Nov. 10.
King’s Resort owner Leon Tsoukernik expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming series, stating, “We’re absolutely thrilled to continue hosting the most prestigious tournament series in Europe, this year offering even higher guaranteed prize pools and new exciting events.” He emphasized the Resort’s commitment to deliver unmatched service and hospitality to all poker players.
The WSOP-C also kicked off its 2023-24 international run on 27 July in London with eight confirmed stops scheduled to date and more stops to be announced soon on WSOP.com. In addition to earning a spot in the invitation-only "Tournament of Champions" event at the 2024 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, each champion from the live or online circuit events will also get a highly coveted WSOP gold ring.
In 2022, the WSOP Europe Main Event beat the record for entrants with 763 participants, resulting in a €7,248,500 prize pool. This year features 15 bracelet events, with the Main Event coming in at a €10,000 buy-in with €5M GTD.
"The buzz surrounding poker has surged following this year’s Main Event in Vegas,” said WSOP Executive Director and Senior Vice President Ty Stewart. “We’re not stopping at setting 12 new records. We expect the WSOP Europe to ride the momentum and break its Main Event record once again this year as players from around the globe try their hand in the richest, most prestigious sport in the world.”
The schedules for WSOP Europe events are subject to potential changes, and the WSOP retains the right to modify any aspect of these events at its discretion.
