UltimateBet Championship final event goes Sunday

The UltimateBet.com Online Championship that began last week will come to a close this Sunday, Dec. 16 with a $1000+50 No Limit Texas Hold'em game that boasts a $750,000 prize pool. UltimateBet plans to broadcast the final table of the event online.

The UBOC has featured a variety of guaranteed online games including 6-Seat No Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, No Limit Hold'em, Limit Hold'em, and Pot Limit Omaha 8 or better. As of Thursday, a player using the moniker "Wild Duck" was sitting in first place with 265 points, well ahead a logjam of four players tied for second place with 100 points.

This is the fifth UBOC, but the event has made some enhancements. In addition to adding a $100,000 Leader Board competition, the event has also featured the participation of renowned poker pros Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke. Any online poker player who knocks either pro out of a tournament will receive a 20-minute poker lesson with that pro via telephone. Team UB Bounty Satellites have also been added to the mix. Each satellite pays out at least two seats to its corresponding UBOC event. Online poker players who knock out a Team UB pro will win their buy-in back.

Satellites for all 13 UBOC events will continue to run throughout the series. Full details on the UltimateBet.com Online Championship are available at www.ultimatebet.com.
